Proměny zeleninových záhonů během vegetačního období

In the vegetation period of 2014 at the experimental field of ZF MENDELU Lednice was started experimental flowerbed which was divided into three parts - Bed of stalk and leaf vegetables, flowerbed of climbing crop plants and flowerbed of unusual vegetables. The aim of this study was to investigate and evaluate the aesthetic transformation of ornamental vegetable beds during the growing season. For the matter was compiled literature search. On the basis of knowledge and experience in the cultivation experiment was evaluated and interpreted with the use of its results in the further practice. Best suited vegetable taxa were selected for its successful cultivation of ornamental vegetable beds in the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic and for its aesthetic effect in ornamental flowerbed over a long period of time. Aromatic and medical plant in family garden

This bachelor thesis is focused on the options of using medicinal aromatic spice plants (MAPs) found in family, hobby gardens in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to describe possible issues encountered during their cultivation using existing literary sources. First part of the thesis defines categories of researched plants, describes the history of MAPs and the reason why they were and still are being cultivated. Following chapter deals with choosing the right place for plant growth and with related characteristics such as soil quality, its treatment and light conditions. Next, a group of MAPs representatives are chosen in a way such that plants may be chosen among them for different garden environments, with different height, look and treatment requirements. Next chapter describes the options of using MAPs in a garden, be it mixed beds or newly created neighborhood in the form of a herb spiral or a gravel bed. It mentions the possibility of putting these elements into the concept of a thematic whole and achieving a three dimensional garden look through both ground plants and hanging containers. The part of thesis dedicated to reproduction is closely related to cultivation, because lots of plants need to be regulated as they grow. Furthermore, it describes sexual and asexual strategies of reproduction. The overview of care during different seasons highlights the most common tasks to be done in those periods. At the end of the thesis there are listed best practices of harvesting and processing herbs. Drying or freezing herbs has been getting more prominent, alongside the usual consumption in their fresh state. Herbs processed in that way may be used for brewing tea, as food spices, manufacturing cosmetic products and more. The variability of herbs is further proven by their use to create a homemade herb broth, which may in some cases fully substitute chemical fertilizers and other solutions.

The Bachelor thesis deals with the ornamental and medicinal plants and the of the family Lamiacea. The part of the work is dedicated to the characteristic of 11 kinds, including botanical description and their use. In these selected species were assessed by their aesthetic appeal. These were mainly the plant habit, the color of flower and the texture of leaf, the time and the duration of flowering plants or their size. The other part of the work is dedicated to the assortment of the ornamental, the medicinal plants and spices according to the domestic and the foreign catalogs.
